There are three ways to shape aluminum castings, including sand molds, metal molds and precision casting. In order to meet the requirements of high castability and higher strength, silicon, copper, magnesium and other related elements will be added to the material to achieve aluminum casting materials that meet market demand.
Here we briefly explain the meaning of each character and number in the material number in the table below; A represents aluminum alloy, C represents castings, and the numbers represent the type of alloy. The English letters A~H behind the numbers indicate that in the same alloy The proportions of their ingredients are different.
Anodizing : A-Excellent、B-Good、C-Fair、D-Difficulty
The aluminum anodizing industry is generally divided into decorative anodes and functional anodes, while aluminum castings are classified as functional. The main reason is that after anodizing, the castings cannot be dyed and the surface is worse than ordinary aluminum alloys. , so it is mainly used in equipment, parts and other purposes, such as: equipment parts, automobile components, etc. where material strength is required without surface requirements.
However, it is more difficult to anodize aluminum castings than ordinary aluminum alloys. The main reason is the material itself. During the casting process, in order to increase the flow of metal liquid and reduce pores and slag pores, release agents and other related additives are added. Relevant chemicals affect the formation of the oxygen electrode film and the surface state of the metal, so there are relatively few anode factories in Taiwan willing to undertake it.
